French Farmhouse Style - cooking & eating

Rustic kitchens and pretty places to dine; whether it is in the cool of a stone farmhouse or on the terrace under the shade of an ancient olive tree. Lazy days filled with the smell of lavender baked in the summer sun and the drone of the honey bee - simple pleasures, but pure bliss!

  7. Just been to a previous post of yours to read about your renovation of your home...fascinating history attatched to it!
I find your blog utterly gorgeous and full of all the things I like about 'old' homes and 'things'!
I have two wooden stools made by a gentleman who dabbled with wood and whose wife painted most of his wooden objects' base colours and he then painted such things as , snowdrops, willow and leaves on them. The two stools are made from the remnants of a 400+ yrs old Barn Door! I love them! I must do a post on my blog re- his work.

    Sandie xx

  13. Sigh. The life I will probably never have! but that is what is so appealing and lovely about looking at your blog--and maybe I can incorporate a little corner of it somehow. Living in New England will never come close to living in the French farmhouse style, but we try. We do try. I like to know it exists somewhere :)

  17. Glenda,
This was a delightful post. Makes me want to bake a pie and have some friends over. I'm in love with the check slips on the dining chairs. I've never seen any with quite that detail on the back...and I love checks.

Was going to E-mail you but couldn't find an address. You had me laughing out loud yesterday with your comment about the cardboard moose. Have a great day. Mona
